An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Programme Manager to join the Northwest Ambulance Service’s established Programme Management Office (PMO).

The role will have a focus on the delivery of digital projects within the trust and will work with subject matter experts, frontline staff and clinicians and corporate teams to formulate and deliver a range of transformational digital projects that are ambitious and innovative, enabling the Trust and the wider system to achieve its strategic objectives in line with local and national policy, and above all make a difference for all of our stakeholders.

The role is an ideal opportunity for someone with significant experience of working within project environments; as programme manager you will have experience of projects using both traditional project management methodologies and also agile methodologies and must possess demonstrable experience of working using such methodologies alongsideevidence of Continuous Professional Development.

As every project we deliver is different, you will be required to flex your skills to drive each individual project forward; this will include responsibility for project delivery and will include identifying when agile or traditional methods are more suitable for such delivery.

You will closely monitor and update project schedules and budgets, prepare progress reports, progress action points, control risks and issues and liaise with key stakeholders.

The role requires an enthusiastic and motivated individual who pays particular attention to detail; youwill have an excellent understanding and experience of the project lifecycle and the need for project management frameworks.You will combine PRINCE2 knowledge with practical, demonstrable experience, and possess strong Microsoft Office skillsincluding Word, Excel, Project, Visio and PowerPoint.You must be a team player, be able to prioritise and manage a diverse workload within tight deadlines, be confident at liaising with stakeholders at all levels and have excellent analytical skills

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.

We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

You will follow Trust project management processes and governance arrangements, reporting to the PMO Portfolio Delivery Manger. The PMO department operates an ethos of best practice techniques, in line with industry standards. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with your colleagues are essential personal attributes.

Working closely with programme assurance colleagues, your project will abide by Trust governance arrangements and will contribute to effective management of resources, risks and issues.

There are a number of stages to finding the right candidate for the position, these stages may include; application; completion of a Situational Judgement Test (SJT);
