SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary School

Location: Sheffield
Salary: £90 - £110 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time available

Start Date: ASAP

Are you passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you want to make a real difference in a secondary school setting?

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school. This is an exciting opportunity to support students with a range of learning needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

✔ Supporting students with SEN on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
✔ Assisting teachers with differentiated learning activities
✔ Helping to manage classroom behaviour and promoting positive learning attitudes
✔ Encouraging students' independence, confidence, and social skills

✔ Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to create a nurturing learning environment

Requirements:

✅ Previous experience working with SEN students (preferred but not essential)
✅ A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting young learners
✅ Strong communication and teamwork skills
✅ Teaching Assistant qualifications (desirable but not required)

✅ A valid DBS check or willingness to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
