TRUST DOCTOR (ST3+) OBSTETRICS & GYNAECOLOGY
This is an obstetrics and gynaecology registrar level role for a doctor keen to obtain CESR and already progressing towards that achievement. The Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department at GHNHSFT has an excellent track record of supporting non-training grade doctors to achieve CESR and subsequently consultant posts.
There will be opportunities to complete ATSMs in the successful candidate’s area of interest and the candidate will be encouraged to participate in teaching, quality improvement and their own professional development.
This post would suit a doctor who has completed the MTI programme successfully and has their MRCOG. This is a 12-month contract with a mid-point review as to whether this will be extended further.
The post will be based mainly at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital/Cheltenham General Hospital some clinical commitments will also take place at some community sites.
The contract for this post will be held by Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (GHNHSFT).

Main duties of the job
Integral to the responsibilities of the post are the following requirements:-
§ To conduct clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Trust’s service plans
§ To provide effective leadership to all staff engaged in these specialties
§ To sustain and develop teaching and research wherever appropriate
§ To undertake all work in accordance with the Trust’s procedures and operating policies

To work at Registrar level in providing clinical care for women in the outpatient and inpatient setting. The expectation is that the post holder will work at the appropriate level towards obtaining CESR in obstetrics and gynaecology. There will be annual appraisals and assessment of progress.
