Job Description

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage procurement activities within the IT and FM categories, ensuring that all contracts and purchases align with the department's operational needs and strategic objectives.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on procurement strategies, contract management, and supplier performance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and understanding of procurement requirements.
  • Manage tender processes, including developing specifications, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts with suppliers.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, ensuring value for money and compliance with contract terms.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant legislation, policies, and best practice guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other procurement professionals to drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and outcomes.
  • Contribute to budget planning and cost-saving initiatives within the IT and FM areas.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Procurement Officer should have:

  • Proven experience in procurement, ideally with a focus on IT or Facilities Management categories.
  • Strong understanding of public sector procurement regulations and best practices.
  • Experience in managing the full procurement cycle, from specification development to contract management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • A relevant procurement qualification (e.g., CIPS) is highly desirable.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
