An exciting full-time opportunity has arisen to join our Cardiology Out-patients Reception team within the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

Our Cardiology services are some of the most advanced in the country, cover a range of services including our Acute Cardiology Ward, Angiography suite and our Coronary Care Unit, which is the PPCI Centre for Norfolk. In addition to this, we are the Norfolk Heart Attack Centre and winners of Student Placement of the Year 2019.
Who we’re looking for?
We are searching for one individual who will join our esteemed team of Receptionists. This individual shall become an integral member of our hardworking team, providing unwavering administrative support to our Cardiology Out-patients department.Their contribution will be paramount to the smooth operation of our department, ensuring that the highest standards of reception and support services are delivered to all who walk through our doors.
The ideal candidates must possess exceptional communication skills, enabling them to connect effortlessly with our patients, their families, the respected members of the public, and a wide array of professionals from diverse disciplines within and outside the Trust.This role demands nothing less than the ability to adapt swiftly and efficiently, as this dynamic post entails the juggling of numerous tasks simultaneously.

We would love for you to join us. What are you waiting for? – apply now!- To provide a support service to the technical, secretarial, medical and nursing staff of the Department.
- To carry out receptionist duties, including prioritising and arranging appointments and maintaining the various appointment systems, identifying test requests and investigations, and co-ordinating the various clinics within the department.
- To deal with patients and external and internal staff enquiries in person or via the telephone, in a courteous and confidential manner and provide assistance as required.
- To ensure patients safety and well-being in the waiting area prior to them being called for their appointment and alerting appropriate staff to any cause for concern.
- To keep a log of telephone requests for investigations in line with department policy, prioritising these and ensuring messages are conveyed to the appropriate technical staff.
- To ensure appointment lists are maintained and prepared in readiness for clinical work.
- To obtain and prepare notes in readiness for clinics, investigations or at the request of staff within the department.
- To maintain a record of the transfer of notes to and from the department.
- To understand the 18 Week Pathway, input the correct RTT codes and validate the patient pathway where appropriate.
- To liaise with Secretaries and other departments within the Trust as necessary to ensure case notes, X-rays and referrals are available for every patient attending an outpatient clinic. Liaise with external stakeholders to obtain referrals if necessary
