Chemistry Technician
The role
Croydon High School is seeking a dedicated and organised Chemistry Technician with laboratory experience and a basic knowledge of science to provide day-to-day technical support in our thriving Science Department.
As a Chemistry Technician, you will support the safe delivery of experiments and practical activities, helping to optimise teaching and learning within the Department. In this role, you will:
- Prepare, set up, and clear away equipment and materials for science lessons and practical examinations
- Prepare solutions and samples of gases required for practicals
- Assist teaching staff with trialling experiments
- Maintain the departmental inventory, monitor stock levels, and manage the purchasing of chemicals, equipment, and textbooks
- Ensure the safe storage and handling of laboratory chemicals and equipment, maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times
An awareness of the importance of health and safety is also crucial.
