We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Senior Medicines Optimisation Programme Specialist to join the well-established Medicines Optimisation Team in NHS Devon.
Successful candidates will be able to draw on a broad range of abilities, including project management experience, and organisation and communication skills.
As a Senior Medicines Optimisation Programme Specialist, you will provide management and programme oversight, and drive the delivery of System Medicines Optimisation programmes, including ICB and ICS programmes where appropriate. You will ensure that programme workstreams are planned and managed effectively, supporting the organisation in their successful delivery.Your role will involve developing, implementing, and maintaining a programme management system to ensure information is efficiently and correctly collated, managed, and analysed, and lead on programme management monitoring and reporting.
Working closely with the Chief Pharmacist – Primary Care and, where appropriate, the Director of Clinical Partnerships, you will identify and rectify any risks or non-delivery of projects. You will regularly meet with programme and project leads to ensure that delivery is in line with the workstream plan.

Main duties of the job
Provide management, programme oversight and drive delivery of System Medicines Optimisation programmes, including ICB Medicines Optimisation programmes and ICS programmes where appropriate.
Ensure that the programme workstreams are planned and managed effectively and support the organisation in ensuring their successful delivery.
Develop, implement and maintain a programme management system to ensure information is efficiently and correctly collated, managed and analysed.
Lead on programme management monitoring and reporting, and lead on ensuring escalation of possible non-delivery to workstream leads and Senior Responsible Owner.
Liaise with the ICB Programme Management Office on reporting and management of relevant programmes, including ensuring contribution of financial and system recovery where required.
Ensure appropriate risk management, other requirements (such as QEIA) and all department returns as appropriate are completed, reported, and actioned.
Act as Information Asset Administrator for ICB Medicines Optimisation team.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
Experience
Essential criteria- Relevant post graduate degree or equivalent level of experience
- Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment
- Demonstrated experience of co-ordinating projects in complex and challenging environments
- Experience of utilising project management principles
- Experience of managing risks and reporting
- Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence at SMT level
- Experience of business planning processes
- Ability to support the budget setting for a department and/or service
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project on the Web or similar tools
- Demonstrated experience in a Healthcare environment
- Understanding of the public sector
