Grade B: £39,784 (National Framework) or £45,456 (London Framework - if you are London office-based or home-based and live within the boundary of the M25) - There is also an additional homeworking allowance of £581 per annum for those working from home
Contracted Hours: Full-time 37 hours per weekContract Type: Permanent
Location: Home-based with 1 to 3 days per month at the Stratford office

We're looking for a Senior Corporate Secretary to join our organisation and take ownership of high-level corporate governance responsibilities, while driving strong people management practices.
As a Senior Corporate Secretary, you will both deliver and oversee effective and efficient support to CQC’s Board, Executive Team, and their committees. You will provide expert advice on corporate governance matters and line manage the Secretariat team.
This role demands high-level collaboration with senior leaders and board members to ensure the smooth functioning of key governance structures. Your expertise will shape critical decision-making processes and support compliance with regulatory frameworks.

What you will bring…
We are specifically looking for candidates with strong board or senior-level decision-making forum secretary skills and strong people management ability.
You will also have the following:
Education: A degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.Experience: Demonstrable experience in supporting boards or senior corporate decision-making forums.
Expertise: A strong background in managing corporate governance issues.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Skills: Exceptional organisational, multitasking, and communication skills, with the ability to manage high-pressure tasks effectively.
In your supporting statement, please also include specific examples of (max - 750 words):
- Your experience in supporting a board or senior corporate decision-making forum.
- Your experience of leading, managing and developing a high-performing team.
