Start Date: Easter 2025Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent - 33.25 hours per week
Salary: MPR1 - UPR3 (FTE: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum) + Possible TLR for the right candidate as Head of department
Samuel Ward Academy is looking to appoint a dynamic Design Technology & Engineering teacher to lead the Design Technology Department. This is an excellent opportunity for an inspiring leader with the ambition and vision to grow a strong department.Experience of teaching engineering would be desirable, but a passion for developing engineering and a willingness to learn are essential. We are looking for a teacher of the highest calibre who has an excellent understanding of the subject and the ability to motivate, challenge and inspire our students.
The successful candidate will be a highly skilled, innovative, creative and enthusiastic practitioner with a determination to achieve the highest outcomes. Already an excellent teacher, they will be ambitious to become an excellent leader as well.Design technology is a popular subject taught is modern, well equipped rooms. The successful candidate will benefit from an excellent CPD offer and will join a school with a highly visible and supportive SLT, a sensible to approach to workload and a calm, respectful working environment.
Samuel Ward is a highly successful 11-18 co-educational academy. We are situated in pleasant surroundings on the western edge of Suffolk, within easy reach of Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds. We benefit from excellent facilities; our new £10m building opened in April 2019.
