The Role:

We have a vacancy for a permanent full time Lecturer in travel and tourism within our Business and Travel and Tourism team. You will be involved in the delivery of a range of travel and tourism programmes.

Key responsibilities:

The travel and tourism team is popular with our students, with course development being at a crucial stage. We are a good department with good achievement rates. The team is firmly committed to reflective and innovative practice with excellent practice in e-learning. You will be working in a team of experienced and industry specialists who offer a range of full-time courses across Levels 2 to 3, with scope to develop this provision. Programmes currently include:

  • NCFE- L2 Diploma in Travel & Tourism
  • NCFE- Introductory Diploma in Travel & Tourism
  • BTEC L3 Extended Diploma in Travel and Tourism

Our Ideal candidate should have the following qualifications, skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, inspiring and informative lessons on various travel and tourism topics.
  • Develop and prepare course materials that meet curriculum and awarding body requirements.
  • Provide students with guidance and meaningful feedback to support their academic development and achievement.
  • Attend standardisation meetings and provide internal verification for student work.
  • Participate in moderation visits and prepare documentation as required.
  • Maintain an interactive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance in line with course objectives and academic standards.

Experience:

  • A relevant qualification in Travel and Tourism (Degree or equivalent)
  • Experience within the Travel and Tourism sector is essential and ensures that the postholder will play a key role in developing learners key skills linked to Travel industry expectations.
  • Previous experience teaching or delivering training in travel and tourism (teaching qualification preferred but not essential).
  • A thorough understanding of the travel and tourism industry, including current trends and best practices, is crucial.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
