We are seeking an IT Business Analyst to bridge the gap between our IT department and business objectives, ensuring that our technology solutions align with our strategic goals. This role involves analysing business processes, identifying improvement areas, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Collaborate closely with a large network of stakeholders and run effective stakeholder workshops.
  • Write high-quality, clear User Stories and support estimates for resources and time to deliver these stories.
  • Work with Technical Solutions teams to plan and prioritize systems changes and enhancements.
  • Become a domain expert for specific products and associated systems.
  • Work proactively with business owners and technical solutions leadership to maintain and prioritize product development and backlog.

Responsibilities:

  • Requirements Gathering: Work with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements.
  • Process Analysis: Analyse current business processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement.
  • Solution Design: Develop and propose IT solutions that align with business needs.
  • Project Management: Assist in project planning, execution, and monitoring to ensure timely delivery of IT projects.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between business units and IT teams, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Testing and Validation: Coordinate and conduct testing to ensure solutions meet business requirements and are free of defects.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users to ensure successful adoption of new systems and processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to analyze complex business problems and propose effective solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Technical Proficiency: Understanding of IT systems, software development, and database management.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and solve problems efficiently.
  • Project Management: Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Detail-Oriented: Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in requirements and solutions.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and environments.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, with a solid understanding of business processes and IT systems.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills:

  • Supply Chain Management Systems: Familiarity with industry-leading systems such as Cargowise One, Oracle SCM, Magaya Supply Chain, Descartes Aljex.
  • Middleware Technologies: Proficiency in platforms like Lobster, Boomi, IBM WebSphere/Integration Bus, Oracle Fusion Middleware etc.
