In this role, you will be an integral member of Assala Energy's IT team. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring, managing, and providing support for our dynamic global networking environments. This involves ensuring the stability and integrity of our network services, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements to enhance operational efficiency across our global operations.
In this capacity you will:
- Help design and implement Assala’s global networking roadmap
- Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot Assala’s global network
- Be the focal point for all issues relating to the global network and networking security events
- Supplier management (WAN, LAN and hardware)
- Analysis and investigation of alerts arising from Security Events and vulnerability scanning tools
- Analysis, investigation and refinement of alerts and reports arising from Network Behaviour Analytics tools
- Analysis, investigation and resolution of incidents arising from network monitoring tools
- Creating/modifying configurations on Cisco/Arista switches, routers and firewalls (Firepower & Palo Alto)
- Vulnerability Scanning and reporting. Prioritising and tracking remediation of vulnerabilities
- Quality assurance of Incident and Change tickets, implementation of change tickets, ensuring information is captured and maintained
- Using packet-capture tools, analyse packet flows and utilise network-based User Behaviour Analytics to understand breaches and track the propagation of malware
- Using Threat Intelligence Services to identify potential new threats and develop new mitigations
- Understanding of security assessment and penetration testing tools
Requirements
You are a driven Network Engineer or Network Architect with a passion for acting as a technical trusted advisor to the business. You possess in-depth technical expertise within routing and switching including network architecture and design experience.
The ideal candidate will also posses :
- 5+ years of networking design and implementation experience with a focus on Data Center, Campus, WI-FI and Security solutions
- Strong presentation and selling skills including communication of complex technical material
- Solid understanding and knowledge of how to build successful relationships between architects, engineers and operations teams
- Good interpersonal skills, customer relations skills, and problem management skills, with the ability to stay calm and professional under pressure while working to strict deadlines
- Experience creating technical material (slides, white papers, battle cards, solution guides, etc)
- Solid knowledge of networking products, solutions, and services
- Experience with Network Overlay and Virtualization is highly desired
- Previous experience building network automation using Python and Ansible desired
- Network Industry Certification including Arista Cloud Engineer (ACE) level 5-7 or CCNA/CCIE desired.
- Experience in Azure networking and security (desirable)
- Has a passion for learning to better themselves and their department
- Has the desire to translate their skills into ways that can improve the IT function both in the UK and Gabon
- Enjoys research into emerging threats in the security landscape and identifying and analysing real-world threats
- Works collaboratively, shares information, improves documentation and trains colleagues
