Elective Orthopaedics' Co-Ordinators team
Our Senior Administrator will be responsible for providing day-to-day administrative support to the team and manager in planning, coordinating various activities in relevance to their own discipline. The ideal candidate will have sound knowledge of secretarial or administrative procedures and systems, some of which are non-routine and non-routine activities such as answering queries, progress chasing, task-related problem solving.They will be responsible for data collection for our hip & knee patients and supporting in the running of our digital platform.
This is a permanent position working 30 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
Main duties include:
- Support the team in the running of the digital platform for patients and staff
- Data collection for hip and knee patients in real time and retrospectively where required
- Carry out reception duties effectively including answering the telephone, taking accurate messages, greeting visitors, responding to queries
- Maintain the quality of own work and support direct reports and colleagues to do the same

Working for our organisation
Trauma and orthopaedics consist of two wards, Ainslie is a Trauma ward and Ella Rowcroft, elective joint replacement ward which is ring fenced area. We also have the fracture clinic.
Our Elective Orthopaedic Co-ordinators are based on Ella Rowcroft ward, you will be working within a small team that deliver pre & post operative care to Elective joint replacement patients.

Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria- Keyboard skills for regular use of computer systems
- ECDL qualification or equivalent experience with practical use of MS Office applications
- NVQ level 2 in relevant subject or equivalent experience
- GCSE in English and Maths
- • NVQ Level 3 in Business administration or equivalent qualification relevant experience.
- • Experience working within a health care setting
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria- • Able to liaise effectively with staff and managers at all levels in the organisation, and with managers from the wider NHS and external organisations.
- • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- • Able to deal with a high volume of work whilst maintaining standards and meeting deadlines.
- • Experience of working within a data quality environment and understanding the impact of changing information in other areas
- • Experience of working within a clinical setting
- Clerical, administrative or reception experience (minimum 2 years). Experience within a customer care, healthcare, education or social care setting.
Specific skills
Essential criteria- • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- • Ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively to meet tight deadlines. Can work under pressure at times.
- • Ability to learn new systems and procedures quickly and effectively.
- • well-developed critical thinking skills
- NVQ level 3 Business Administration or equivalent experience
