Role Overview: Are you an experienced and passionate Spanish teacher ready to take the next step in your career? We are looking for a dynamic Head of Spanish to lead our Modern Foreign Languages department. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our language program and inspire a love of Spanish among our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Spanish department, including curriculum planning and development.
  • Deliver engaging and high-quality Spanish lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning within the department.
  • Support and mentor other language teachers, promoting professional development.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm for Spanish.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share best practices.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events to enhance the overall educational experience.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Spanish or a related subject.
  • Proven experience teaching Spanish at the secondary school level.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students and staff.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a leadership role within a Modern Foreign Languages department.
  • Familiarity with the UK National Curriculum for Modern Foreign Languages.
