We are now recruiting for AV Support Technicians to join our Exhibitions and Gallery Services team at the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester on a Casual contract basis, meaning you can sign up to shifts as you choose with no obligation to work a set number of hours regularly.
About the role
As a Casual AV Support Technician, you will work as part of our Gallery Maintenance Team to provide live technical support to events and assist with the installation and maintenance of new exhibitions, galleries, and festivals.
You will deliver an exceptional standard of technical AV support to internal and external clients, including liaising with museum staff and contractors to deliver events, in line with risk assessments and established operating procedures. You will be responsible for the troubleshooting of AV installations during live events and ensuring all equipment is kept in good working order, stored correctly after use, and that any faults are reported.
About you
Joining us you will be a skilled sound technician with proven experience of delivering live audio mixing. You will have practical experience of technical video and projection setup for live events, including image alignment and video mixing.
You will have the ability to work confidently and professionally under pressure to troubleshoot technical issues in challenging and time pressured situations. Crucially, you will be able to communicate well with a variety of stakeholders (paying clients, artists, contractors, our visitors, and other museum staff) and you will have a good understanding of what it takes to deliver the best possible service.
