We deliver ICE (the world’s largest Gaming event) as well as the vibrant iGB series of events.

We are currently seeking an experienced and bilingual Operations Manager to join our dynamic team as we prepare to move our flagship shows ICE and iGB Affiliate to Barcelona for the very first time!

As one of our Operations Managers, you will ensure that all you assigned projects run smoothly from inception to completion. This role requires a strong collaboration, with excellent organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in event management and a passion for creating unforgettable experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bilingual Support: Facilitating clear communication between English and Spanish-speaking stakeholders. Providing translation/interpretation services where needed to ensure we meet the needs of our local audience due to attend the event.
  • Project Management: Coordinating and owning your assigned operational aspects of the event, ensuring all deadlines are met and progress is clearly communicated to Head of Operations.
  • Vendor Management: Identifying, negotiating with, and managing relationships with local vendors and suppliers in Barcelona, including venues, catering, transportation, and equipment rentals.
  • Budget Management: Ensuring your operational aspects are delivered on budget and correctly recorded in our budget trackers to aid in forecasting whilst focussing on cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Serving as the main point of contact for your assigned aspects ensuring both internal and external stakeholders are provided regular updates on project status, potential issues, and solutions. Collaborate with the existing Operations team, providing guidance, support, to help drive our culture of development.
  • On-Site Coordination: Travelling to Barcelona in January to supervise the on-site setup and execution of your assigned aspects, ensuring run smoothly during the event.
  • Future Planning: Contributing to post-event feedback reports by recording observations, feedback and suggestions for future improvements to the event.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:

  • Fluent in English and Spanish and/or Catalan (both spoken and written).
  • Experience in operations management, event planning, or project management.
  • Experience of implementing Health and Safety measures.
  • IOSH qualification desirable.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale events, preferably with an international component.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., Airtable, Trello, Asana) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong collaboration, negotiation, and communication skills; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and timelines.
