Senior Manufacturing Engineer**
Due to continuing growth, this leading provider of AS9100-accredited precision engineering services offering a complete turnkey solution for design and manufacturing, is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to continue to deliver solutions for customers complex manufacturing challenges.
As Senior Manufacturing Engineer you will be working closely with the Engineering Director, supporting manufacturing activities by directing best methods of manufacture and delivering technical engineering support to both production and quality teams.
Additionally, you will lead internal facing engineering to deliver continued growth to the business; target areas of improvement using both personal experience and research bolstered by a LEAN approach and lead front-end engineering to deliver continued growth to the business; target potential areas within the business that require additional work and grow portfolio and capabilities.
Other areas of responsibility will involve new business support, customer interaction, NPI project support (timing plans etc.) and wider continuous improvement initiatives.
About you:
Suitably educated with several years experience in a senior manufacturing engineering or supervisory role and experienced in mechanical engineering with a knowledge incorporating machining and materials. Applicants from a sub-contract machine shop are particularly welcome.
- Experience of CNC machining in a precision engineering environment
- High level of CNC programming competency in Fanuc Heidenhain languages.
- Programming experience in both turning and milling capabilities, ideally up to 5 axis (3+2) with strong knowledge of setting, operating, and programming.
- 3D modelling, preferably with SolidWorks and Visi.
- Offline programming, familiarity with VISI CAM package highly desired.
- GD&T and drawing standards
- Technical specifications on materials, metrology, surface treatments, hardness methods
