Job Description
  • Responsible for managing, leading and developing the finance team
  • Manage the annual budgeting process, the rolling forecast.
  • Oversee the reporting and analysis of financial information in order to provide accurate, timely and meaningful financial to support decision making across the organisation
  • Coordinate audits ensuring deadlines are met and corrective actions are implemented
  • Oversee all accounting and finance operations within the company.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's goals.
  • Manage financial risks and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve financial efficiency.
  • Participate in strategic decision-making processes.
  • Responsible for developing and realising the efficiencies of the new Microsoft Dynamics 365 system

The Successful Applicant

A successful Financial Controller should have:

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Knowledge and experience of accounting standards UK (Understanding of the Charity SOP is preferred)
  • Audit management experience is essential
  • A deep understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • The ability to analyse financial data and generate insights to support decision-making
  • Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with regulations
  • The ability to lead and managing the finance team effectively
  • Clear communication with various stakeholders, including explaining complex financial concepts
  • Strategic planning and providing financial insights to support business goals
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and ensuring compliance with financial regulations
  • Cost Management: Implementing cost control measures and monitoring financial performance
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central systems to streamline processes
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve financial issues efficiently
  • Experience of change management
  • Tact and diplomacy and an ability to influence at all levels
