The role

As a Business Improvement Associate, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Working within an energetic and diverse team working to challenging timescales delivering transformation projects/programmes in different functions and sectors across defence in the UK.

Day-to-day, you’ll be accountable to the Business Improvement (BI) Manager. with responsibility of the Transformation Programme Lead for the allocated project/programme.
  • Supporting process improvement projects within the function, and work with specialists and leads to implement improvement plans.
  • Providing analysis of data on useful information and insights including performance against plan.
  • Supporting project activities applying a structured approach and process, ensuring the use the correct tools and techniques to deliver projects through the lifecycle.
  • Establishing trusting relationships with the business’s key leaders and stakeholders, to ensure that there is a free flow of ideas, information and coordinated activity across the project/programme.
  • Ability to perform a range of assignments using established approaches to analyse and resolve problems.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Business Improvement Associate
  • Ability to work well with small teams as well as a wider groups of stakeholders. Fostering teamwork and collaboration
  • Proactive and inquisitive individual
  • Good communications and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience and understanding of project management (preferably PMQ) and the delivery of projects - Desirable
  • Experience/Knowledge of process improvement/change - Desirable
  • Experienced in analysis of data to provide useful information and insights including performance against plan- Desirable
Qualifications for the Business Improvement Associate
  • Qualified to a degree level or be able to demonstrate a career-based knowledge and experience (Higher Level Apprenticeships/HNC/HND)
  • APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) - Desirable
  • APMG Change Management Foundation - Desirable
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt - Desirable
Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
