Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Sports Teaching Assistant to help children within the classroom by utilising sports and physical education methods. This position is perfect for those who are passionate about sports and aims to positively influence students' educational journeys.
Location: NewportStart: ASAP
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm. Monday – Friday
Pay: £12.90 per hour.
The ideal candidate will:
- Provide 1:1 or group support to students who are facing social and academic challenges, utilising physical exercise to enhance behavioural strategies that help them self-regulate.
- Implement sports strategies and methods to engage students, enhance their learning experiences, and cultivate a passion for physical activity.
- Provide emotional assistance to students, helping them develop the personal and social skills essential for success in and outside the classroom.
- Foster a positive relationship with the child to establish trust and a sense of comfort, focusing on relationship-building through sports and physical activities.
- Have a passion for sports and physical exercise with a commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity within sport.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a sport setting and/or with children and young adults is not a requirement but is preferred.
- EWC registration (or willingness to apply)
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS) (or willingness to apply)
- Right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
