The Faculty of Science and Engineering is seeking applications from highly motivated, well-organised and proactive assistant administrators for the post of Assistant Administrator (Faculty Facilities).

Based mainly within the Marine Building on main Campus you will be providing effective administration support for the facilities within the Faculty of Science and Engineering CoAST Lab, (Coastal, Ocean and Sediment Transport) Laboratory, Marine Station and MSL (Maritime Simulation Laboratory) by delivering a customer focused and cost-effective service.

This post will include the handling of material and information of a confidential nature. There is a regular requirement to work at the Marine Station, which is situated away from the main campus.

You will also provide general administrative support to the Director of Marine Business Development, which will involve diary management, booking of travel, arranging meetings (including booking venues and catering) along with occasional minute taking during meetings.

You will be an experienced assistant administrator who has strong communication and interpersonal skills as you will be required to liaise with colleagues at all levels both internally and externally with our clients, partners and our students.

As the post spans more than one area you will need to be adaptable to change, well organised and be able to manage your time effectively, preferably with previous experience in providing administrative support in a busy working environment.

It is essential that you have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and databases and you can use Outlook effectively to manage email inboxes and diaries.

Reporting to and under the direction of the Senior Support Administrator, you will work alongside other members of the wider professional services teams within the Faculty of Science and Engineering and University.

This an exciting opportunity to join us in a key supportive role working with a wide range of colleagues across the facilities within the Faculty.

This is a part-time position working 29.6 hours a week (0.8 FTE) on a permanent basis.

Remote working is available up to 1 day a week.
