Job overview

Working within an MDT whose aims are to maintain health and deliver interventions which have a long term preventative focus. This requires a sound knowledge of multifactorial falls risk and a proactive approach to falls reduction.

The Specialist Physiotherapist post is predominantly a clinical role with a split of 90% clinical and 10% non-clinical work. The post holder will be responsible for their own caseload within their speciality area as an autonomous practitioner.

As a specialist physiotherapist they will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient centred Physiotherapy programmes of care to a specialist level ensuring that they practice within their sphere of competence and knowledge.

Knowledge and skills will be used to develop competencies and clinical knowledge with patients, carers, colleagues, students and the wider multidisciplinary team. As a team member they will also support members of the wider multidisciplinary team deliver high quality community care.

The post holder will work to professional and HCPC standards and guidance at all times ensuring that their practice is grounded in evidence based theoretical and practical knowledge.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Professional degree in Physiotherapy
  • Minimum of 2 years post graduate experience
  • HCPC Registration
  • Experience of MDT working
  • Post Graduate qualification in specialist field or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Further formal study or qualification

Experience

  • Experience of working in a multicultural disciplinary team working
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of managing & developing staff from different professions
  • Experience of working in a Community Setting
  • Experience of delivering training

Knowledge
