Secondment would be possible for internal candidates pending approval of a secondment request form from your line manager.

We have a fixed term therapy assistant post available to work as part of the integrated therapy team on Tocketts Ward in East Cleveland Primary Care Hospital. You would work with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and nurses to provide rehabilitation to patients on the ward to increase their independence and support a safe discharge.

Based on site at East Cleveland Primary Care Hospital you would also have access to Free parking.

Successful candidate must have access to a vehicle for work purposes to meet the requirements of the role.

Main duties of the job

You will need to be able to work on your own and as part of a team and be involved with patients with a range of medical, social and functional problems, as delegated by the physiotherapist and occupational therapists within the team.

Excellent communication skills, organisational skills, enthusiasm, commitment and ability to work with a wide range of agencies are also vital in this post.

Support and in-service training will be provided to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding of the role for older persons medicine. There are supervision structures in place to provide support and ensure that you continue to deliver the best possible service to the patients in our care and develop in your role as a therapy assistant.

Essential criteria

Qualifications & Training

Essential criteria
  • To have achieved NVQ level 3 in Health and Social care or knowledge acquired through in-hours training, short course & experience to NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
  • To have achieved a level 1 maths and English qualification or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Recent experience working in a health and social care environment
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience working as a therapy assistant.

  • Must have access to a vehicle for work purposes to meet the requirements of the role
