Special Educational Needs (SEN) Behaviour Teaching Assistant

Position: SEN Behaviour Teaching AssistantLocation: Northampton
Type: Full-time
Salary: £85 to £95 (daily rate)
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children with various behavioural and emotional needs in the classroom (SEMH – social, emotional and mental health)
- Assist teachers in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to encourage positive behaviour and learning.
- Foster a nurturing environment that promotes social and emotional development.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and external agencies to create a holistic approach to each child’s education.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children with SEN, particularly in behaviour support.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Relevant qualifications in education or childcare (desirable but not essential).
- A minimum of Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (or be able to complete our online Level 2 Teaching Assistant Diploma).
