Are you passionate about community engagement and civic pride? Do you thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy working with diverse groups of people? If so, we have the perfect role for you!

As a Civic and Community Engagement Officer, you will play a pivotal role in fostering community spirit and enhancing civic engagement across Burnley.

You will collaborate with the Mayor and Civic Dignitaries: manage their diaries and coordinate a vibrant programme of projects, events, ceremonies, civic functions, and public engagements.

You will deliver Community Engagement Programmes: work at the grassroots level to create and implement initiatives that encourage meaningful discussions between the Council and local communities.

It is essential you have excellent organisational skills for delivering from start to finish civic, community and other events.

You must have the ability to manage budgets and negotiate prices. You must also be able to work on your own initiative and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external contacts.

It is essential you have experience of working with council members, members of parliament or members of the public.

You must be able to attend evening meetings, work outside normal office hours and hold a full clean driver’s licence with access to a car for work purposes.

Exciting times lie ahead as we realise our ambition to create thriving communities. There's a host of multi-million-pound regeneration projects on the horizon, we're building our reputation as a university town, we've got drive and ambition, and on our doorstep, we've got some of the most beautiful countryside in Britain.

We're determined to get residents, businesses and organisations on board with our vision - and you can play a central role in delivering that.

We have a positive working environment; our Net Promoter Score (NPS) has soared to +29, reflecting our commitment to employee satisfaction and loyalty with a strong emphasis on the health and wellbeing of our workforce.
