Junior Electronics Repair Technician – Test & Measurement Equipment

We are looking for a Junior Electronics Repair Engineer to join our Winnersh Service Centre. This role is ideal for someone at an early stage of their technical career who enjoys hands‑on repair work, structured troubleshooting, and working with electronic hardware on a day‑to‑day basis.It is particularly well suited to candidates with a technician, apprenticeship, or vocational engineering background who want to develop practical skills in diagnostics, repair, and calibration of complex test equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Service, repair, functional test, and validation of Keysight and third‑party electronic test and measurement equipment, including network analysers, spectrum analysers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
- Carry out routine technical tasks using defined procedures, applying judgement as skills develop.
- Diagnose and resolve a broad range of electronic faults with varying levels of complexity.
- Perform testing, verification, and basic calibration activities following quality and safety standards.
- Understand customer technical requirements through written communication and face‑to‑face interaction.
- Provide occasional on‑site customer support ()Accurately document repair actions, test results, and service records
Qualifications:
Essential:
- GCSEs in Maths, Science, and English at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
- Level 3 Engineering qualification (NVQ, BTEC, apprenticeship, or similar).
- Basic understanding of electronics principlesStrong IT skills, including Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently, proactively, and follow structured technical procedures.
- Genuine interest in electronics repair, diagnostics, and test equipment.
- Ability and eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance.
- Right to work in the UK
Nice to Have:
- Practical experience in electronics repair, fault‑finding, testing, or assembly.
- Exposure to calibration, or test & measurement equipment.
- Hands‑on experience gained through education, personal projects, hobbies, or previous roles.
- Interest in building a long‑term career in technical service, repair, calibration, or metrology.
