Management Accountant/Finance Manager

• Annual Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (DOE)
• Location: Basildon
• Job Type: Full-time

You will be the backbone of our financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all accounting tasks.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Manage all aspects of the accounting cycle up to trial balance, including VAT submissions, payroll, accruals, audits, postings, journals, costings, and cash flow management.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis.
• Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
• Ensure timely processing of payroll.
• Manage budgeting and forecasting.
• Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Management Accountant, Finance Manager, or similar role.
• Strong ability to handle the complete accountancy function up to trial balance independently.
• Proficient in VAT submissions, payroll processing, and creating financial statements.
• Experience with financial audits and the preparation of reports.
• Proficiency in Xero and other financial software.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Relevant certification (e.g., CIMA or ACCA) is preferred.
