Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Wire and assemble electrical control panels for industrial machines and scientific instruments based on schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Creating cable assemblies, looms following the latest drawing sets.
  • Conduct circuit verification on electrical installations to ensure functionality and safety (Dead test).
  • Conduct live circuit testing on mains (LV 230VAC and SELV 24VDC circuits).
  • Utilize Digital Voltmeters (DVM) and other test equipment to diagnose and resolve electrical issues.
  • Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including any issues encountered and solutions implemented
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure all work meets industry standards and specifications.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Proven experience in electrical panel assembly and wiring following schematics and assembly drawings.
  • Proficiency in using tools such as Digital Voltmeters (DVM) and other relevant testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical testing.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant electrical qualification to verify and test, such as a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services or equivalent.
  • 17th and/or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) but training can be provided.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
  • Comfortable working at height on raised platforms.
  • Capable of performing bench work and handling small components.
