Job Title: Science Teacher / Tutor
Location: Towcester, Silverstone

Salary: £25,410 - £39,300 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience) plus SEN allowance and additional benefits

A highly reputable, independent SEN secondary school located near Towcester and Silverstone is seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher or Tutor to join their permanent team from January 2025, or earlier if possible. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a nurturing and supportive environment, delivering high-quality science education to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and tailored Science lessons to secondary-aged students with SEN.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members, including SEN specialists, to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and confidence.
  • Support students in both their academic and personal development, promoting a growth mindset and a love for learning.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and school events as required.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification is essential.
  • Previous experience teaching Science at the secondary level, preferably within an SEN setting.
  • Strong understanding of a range of SEN needs and a commitment to inclusive education.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to working with students who may require additional support.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students, fostering a positive learning environment.
  • A proactive attitude and a desire to contribute to the wider school community.
