Head of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Department

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) to lead our dynamic department at a secondary school in Barnsley. This permanent position involves overseeing the delivery of both French and Spanish at GCSE and A'level, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the MFL department, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum for French and Spanish that meets educational standards and engages students.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
• Mentor and support MFL teachers, promoting professional development and best practices.
• Coordinate extracurricular activities and language immersion programs to enhance student learning.
• Ensure the department's resources are effectively utilised and maintained.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in a relevant subject.
• Proven experience in teaching French and Spanish at GCSE and A'level.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
