Are you an organised, friendly, and detail-oriented individual looking for a part-time role in a dynamic healthcare environment? We are seeking a Receptionist/Clerical Assistant to join our Paediatric Audiology team. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth operations across our Derby and Burton sites, with a primary location at the Royal Derby Hospital (RDH).

As the first point of contact for patients and their families, you will play a key role in providing excellent customer service and administrative support. You will manage phone queries, book patients, process clinical reports, and handle other administrative tasks to support our audiology services.

This part-time role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Patient Interaction: Deal with phone queries from patients and their families, providing accurate information and assistance.

  • Reception Duties: Book patients in at reception, ensuring all necessary paperwork and information is correctly processed.
  • Appointment Management: Book patients off waiting lists and schedule follow-up appointments as required.
  • Report Processing: Process clinical reports efficiently and accurately.
  • Earmold Management: Dispatch earmolds to the manufacturer and manage their return.
  • Audiologist Support: Receive calls from audiologists, providing support as needed and rearranging clinics in times of sickness or other disruptions.
  • Cross-Site Coordination: Collaborate with the admin team responsible for Derby and Burton sites to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform other administrative duties as required to support the smooth running of the paediatric audiology department.
