Job Description
§ Review engineering drawings and identify suitable suppliers (in house or external) of bespoke fabrications and proprietary equipment
§ Prepare and issue enquiry documentation identifying quality and delivery requirements
§ Evaluate and verify quotations meet enquiry requirements
§ Raise purchase order documents according to the existing approval level
§ Breakdown engineering drawings into bill of materials and issue for in house manufacture
§ Arrange Inspections as required to comply with DVE and client quality requirements
§ Expedite in house and external supply chain to ensure on time deliveries
§ Review and answer in a timely manner issues raised by in house and external supply chain associated with the supply of goods
§ Process any Non-conformances
§ Maintain all documentation control in accordance with DVE quality system
§ Carry out and verify purchase reporting on budget and programme
The Successful Applicant
A successful Engineering Buyer should have:§ Approximately 5+ years' relevant experience
§ Fabrication/mechanical background (essential)
§ Ability to interpret and process fabrication/engineering drawings (essential)
§ IT knowledge, including Outlook, Word and Excel
§ Excellent communication skills and time management skills
§ Ability to organise and prioritise workload, maintain confidentiality, and produce/process documents accurately
§ Ability to set and meet personal targets, combined with the flexibility to adjust to workload priorities to take account of new deadlines
§ Takes pride in their work and adopts a positive attitude to work
§ Ability to work in a small, cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment
