Senior Health and Safety Manager

Our client is a large public sector organisation based in the West Midlands who are looking to recruit a Senior Health and Safety Manager to manage their multiple waste depots in the West Midlands area. They are committed to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety and now seek a manager who is passionate about the industry and wants to make a difference.Initially, a 6-month rolling contract which may lead to a permanent job.
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, implementing safety policies, and promoting a culture of safety within the organisation.
Your new role
Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures.Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
Provide training and support to staff on health and safety practices.
Investigate and report on incidents and accidents and implement corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation.
Liaise with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders.
Promote a proactive safety culture within the organisation.
What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager, preferably in the public sector.In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and safety audits.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification.
