We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time medical receptionist to join our ever growing team here at Washingborough Family Practice. The post is for 23 hours per week: Monday 7:45am 1:30pm Tuesday 7:45am 1:30pm Thursday 7:45am 1:30pm Friday 1:15pm 7:00pm The successful applicant will be required to cover for sickness and holidays.

Salary will be dependant on qualifications and experience. Experience with SystmOne is desirable but not essential as full training will be given. Closing date for applications: 28th October 2024 Interviews proposed to take place: 4th November 2024 The purpose of the role is: Offer general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone Receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.

Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice including the provision of clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the Practice team. Facilitate effective communication between patients, members the primary health care team, secondary care, and other associated healthcare agencies.
Process repeat prescriptions, both paper and on line. Process new patient registrations and record all relevant information. Duties and responsiblities include: Opening up/locking-up of Practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with Practice protocols.
Maintaining and monitoring the Practice appointments system Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional. Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail.
Taking messages and passing on information. Handling general enquiries, explaining surgery procedures. Dealing with actions requested by the GPs/Nurses from incoming post/results. Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with Practice guidelines Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with Practice procedures.
Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member and associated healthcare agencies and providers. Clearing and re-stock consulting rooms as required. Ordering, re-ordering and monitoring of stationery and other supplies.
Keeping the reception area, noticeboards, and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter. Providing cover for members of the Reception/Administrative Team during periods of sickness and annual leave. Assisting Practice Manager and Deputy Manager in routine clerical/administrative duties.

Attending Meetings/training as necessary. Handling and recording payment for private services.
