Eco2 Management Services Ltd (EMSL) are looking for a full time Graduate Support Engineer to be based in Cardiff. This role will initially be a 12-month fixed term contract, with a possible move to permanent employment if current client contracts are extended.

Eco2 Management Services Ltd (EMSL) manages renewable energy assets across the UK and Ireland. We’re passionate about making a difference in the renewable energy sector and ensuring top-tier asset performance for our clients.
Our Wind Services team manage 11 wind sites across the UK and Ireland, as well as a smaller portfolio of low-capacity wind turbines located across the Orkney, Shetland Islands.
As our Graduate Support Engineer, you will be involved in the collection, analysis, and presentation of data from wind turbine sites under our management. The role will also see you tackle other areas of the turbine’s operation liaising with stakeholders, conducting site visits and further progressing your knowledge of the UK renewable energy industry.

This role offers hands-on experience and the opportunity to develop technical and operational skills in a fast-growing industry and would therefore suit a graduate.

  • Our total remuneration and benefits package includes:
o Basic Salary of £25-27k per annum, plus a generous On-Call Allowance.

  • Your place of work will be our Cardiff office as we value face-to-face collaboration but there will be opportunities to work from home. Our expectation is that new team members will need to be in the office more regularly in the early days of their employment to receive training and guidance to ensure they get off to a great start. We will discuss opportunities to work from home more frequently once the training period is complete.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collate, process, and analyse data from wind turbines and other renewable energy sources.
  • Produce detailed reports for clients based on the data analysis, ensuring compliance with our Management Service Agreements (MSAs).
  • Liaise with operations and finance teams as well as external service providers.
  • Conduct regular checks of wind projects using SCADA systems.
  • Attend site inspections and client meetings, contributing to the presentation of operational findings.
  • Support the team with additional operational, contractual, and project management tasks as needed.
  • As part of this role, you will participate in an on-call rota, ensuring support for turbine operations outside regular working hours. The on-call schedule includes weekday evenings (6pm–8am) and full days during weekends and bank holidays. You will be compensated for your availability with a daily payment, whether or not you are called to respond. Additional payments are made for time worked if issues arise that take longer to resolve. Further details on the on-call duties will be provided during the interview process.
Who You Are:

You will:

  • Have completed a degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, but also Word, Teams, Sharepoint etc.).
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Possess a strong degree of self-organisation and an ability to prioritise tasks appropriately.
  • Be a confident communicator, who builds productive working relationships with your colleagues and suppliers via email, phone, and face to face.
  • Work with a high attention to detail and professionalism in their dealings with stakeholders.
  • Willing to travel for site visits and client meetings (UK driving license required).
  • Passion for renewable energy and eagerness to learn.

The following would be also be advantageous but not essential:

  • Knowledge of wind turbine operations and the UK electricity market.
  • Advanced Excel skills (experience with macros or data automation tools like SQL or MS Automate is a plus).
This role would suit a graduate in Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Sustainability and Renewable Energy, Geography or Geology.
