What you’ll be doing:
Your role in our Satellite Platform team will be to ensure our networks are designed, tested, built, and maintained with fresh, new, innovative ideas in mind. You’ll be managing supporting the management of different services across our specialist networks, ensuring that our customers have the very best experience.Not only that, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in testing the latest networking technology, upgrading the existing network and the planning, installing and running of network elements and using world class data analytics to drive service improvements.
Don’t worry though, you’ll be taught all of the skills that you need for this role, for example how to plan, design, build and test a simple network, applying appropriate security products and processes. From there, you’ll learn how to identify the key characteristics of a new network service, and how to develop estimates of the expected traffic load that the network must support.You’ll also be trained to identify and evaluate network security risks, ensuring our network design is secure and resilient.

You’ll also work with our customers directly, helping both technical and non-technical users alike, to install and maintain computer networks.
The apprentice training course: As an Apprentice Network Engineer, you’ll study for a Level 4 apprenticeship in Network Engineering.Hours: 37.5 hours Mon-Fri
Start date: September 2025
Duration: Your apprenticeship will last for 24 months. You’ll spend a minimum of 20% of your time learning and studying.
The qualifications you’ll need:
Two A-Levels with a minimum of CC grades. You’ll also need a minimum of five GCSEs at grades 4-9 (C or above) including English and Maths.
