Our school fosters a nurturing and supportive environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential.We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join our enthusiastic team.
Responsibilities:- Support for Students: Work closely with students with SEN, providing tailored support to meet their individual needs, both in and out of the classroom.
- Classroom Assistance: Assist the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and managing classroom behavior, ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Individual and Group Support: Provide one-on-one or small group support for students, helping them to understand and complete tasks.
- Adapt Learning Materials: Modify and adapt learning materials to accommodate the diverse needs of students with SEN.
- Monitor Progress: Track and report on the progress and development of students, providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.
- Encourage Independence: Foster independence in students by encouraging and guiding them to complete tasks on their own when appropriate.
- Positive Environment: Contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive school culture, promoting the social and emotional well-being of all students.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and other support staff to ensure the effective implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
- Professional Development: Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEN support.
- Qualifications: A relevant qualification in education or SEN support is desirable but not essential.
- Experience: Previous experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting is highly advantageous.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience and Empathy: Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse needs.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to the changing needs of students and the school environment.
- Team Player: Willingness to work as part of a team and contribute to the overall success of the school community.
- Enhanced DBS Check: Must have or be willing to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
