Job Ref: ATR 5256333Pay Rate: £14.89 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, 8.30am to 5pm
Role Length: This opening assignment is for 5-6 months
City: Wiltshire
Occasional travel may be required within our area of operation so a driving licence and use of car for business purposes is essential.
The purpose of the role is to provide a proactive and effective HR generalist advisory service to colleagues and leaders, ensuring they are aware of relevant policy, principles and processes and signpost relevant information and guidance, as required.
Key responsibilities:
In conjunction with all the People Team hubs and Payroll team, collaboratively support a seamless experience for all new and existing leaders and colleagues.Where required (and under relevant supervision) provide relevant support to the wider People team (i.e., where additional resourcing requirements occur), this might include covering / or assisting short term for co-ordinators within other People teams or hubs.
Ensure the timely and accurate recording of information relevant to your hub operations.Ensure the accurate and timely filing and maintenance of electronic personal files within Share Point, to ensure confidentiality and using GDPR retention guidelines.
Administer and maintain the HRIS and case management system, in line with relevant legislative, procedural and GDPR requirements.
Where required, support at formal meetings and provide note taking support.
Ensure expenditure under relevant budgets is tracked and liaise with relevant business areas to ensure related POs and invoices are raised and paid on time.
Facilitate the process of flexible working and family-friendly leave requests seeking advice and support from ER Partners as required.
Facilitate and support the transactional processes required to changes of terms and conditions, within relevant business area.
Qualifications:
Educated to GCSE Standard (or equivalent), including passes in English and Maths.Hold (or be working towards) a recognised HR or CIPD Level 5 qualification – desirable.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.Basic knowledge and understanding of the Housing/Maintenance and/or Care Sector.
Knowledge and understanding of HR administration and HR technology.
Experience of working within an HR team within a specialist or generalist service model.
Client relationship management: act as first point of contact for absence management advice for colleagues or leaders at all levels of the organisation.
Basic understanding of GDPR and experienced in the management of HR systems, including case management and digital filing systems.
Previous relevant experience working in a generalist HR advisor role.
Knowledge of employment law.
Experience of working within a fast-paced environment is essential.
Previous experience of Housing related sector preferred but not necessary.
Experience with HR Information Systems (i.e., iTrent or Dynamics HR), SharePoint and Service Now is preferred.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
