If you have the passion, drive, and commitment towards providing the very best psychological support to our Service Users we would love for you to come and join us in our Suffolk Specialist Adult Eating Disorders Service!
We’re seeking an experienced, pro-active, passionate, and motivated CBT therapist to join our well-established and thriving Adult Eating Disorder Service based across Suffolk. Our service provides highly specialist psychological treatment to adults over 18 years of age.
If you have the drive to provide excellent care, the ability to work as part of our multi-disciplinary team, and are willing to go the extra mile to help make a difference to service users lives then we would love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
Please see attached job description and recruitment letter for further information. In summary, key responsibilities include:
- Delivering psychological treatment interventions to allocated service users.
- Conducting psychological assessment and formulations.
- Providing supervision and consultancy to other mental health professionals within the team and to network colleagues
- Participating in research and development activities.
- Working with the psychological therapies team to provide psychological containment, advice and support to the broader team and wider network.
- Supporting the continued implementation of the Routine Outcome Measures (ROMs) strategy.
- Assessment and management of risk associated with mental ill health and related psychopathology.
- Attending and contributing within regular meetings, such as: MDT, CPA, and s.117 reviews.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria- Professional qualification and registration in a recognised mental health profession
- BABCP accreditation (or working towards) as a CBT/Therapists (may have been gained following successful completion of High Intensity Therapist Training).
- Knowledge and experience acquired through relevant first professional qualification at degree or postgraduate degree level.
Experience
Essential criteria- Theoretical knowledge of CBT/Therapies and the application of appropriate models of practice, according to client need.
- Substantial experience in managerial/clinical supervision of others casework. Substantial experience in teaching/training others.
Skills
Essential criteria- Ability to expertly manage a complex caseload Ability to make judgements involving highly complex facts or situations, ability to exercise judgement in identifying and assessing complicated events or problems.
- Advanced skills in assessment, formulation, engagement and interventions.
- Working knowledge of health legislation and current practice in mental health, including risk assessment and management.
Knowledge
Essential criteria- Knowledge of psychosocial interventions
- Developing knowledge of local wider systems and networks.
Other
Essential criteria- Own transport which can be used for work purposes and ability to travel.
