Job Duties:
- Work as part of the Family Support Team to provide support to children and their families
- Provide practical and emotional support to families facing difficulties
- Assess needs and develop individualised support plans
- Work collaboratively with social workers, health professionals, and other agencies
- Deliver parenting skills workshops and educational programmes
- Advocate for families and connect them with relevant community resources
- Have strong communication and interperseonal skills
- Maintain confidentiality and work with sensitivity
- Arrange meetings with parents and outside agencies
- Complete home visits to children and families
Required Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
- Previous experience working with families in challenging situations
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of child protection policies and procedures
- Knowledge of relevant community resources and support services
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
- Relevant experience working with families in challenging situations
