Security Risk Manager - NHS
Main duties of the job To provide leadership, specialist advice, and support on matters concerning corporate security policy, strategy, risk, governance, development, organisation, and delivery of security services to the Trust. To promote the Trusts Security service as a centre of excellence.
To maintain the quality and standards required of a Healthcare security workforce across all Trust sites. To review and assist in updating policies, procedures, and work instructions as required.Review Datix and incident investigations. Carry out security-related risk assessments as required.
Provide an effective and timely response to any complaint enquiry, ensuring efficient investigation and appropriate action. Lead the investigation and resolution of complaints, adverse incidents, and untoward incidents involving staff and/or patients, and implement strategies to reduce recurrence and promote quality.
Ensure compliance with the Secretary of States Direction 2004 to NHS bodies Security Management. Ensure that appropriate security management arrangements are in place to protect staff, patients, and NHS assets. Achieve agreed objectives and targets and produce an annual Security Report.

Job responsibilities To protect the interests of the Trust, including preparation of cases and prosecution of offenders. Maintain comprehensive records and monitor all security and violence, abuse, and harassment-related incidents; conduct investigations as required.
Investigate breaches of security and advise on improvements. Conduct security site surveys and provide recommendations to enhance security. Manage and develop security infrastructure, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems. Support monitoring of Security Services and liaise with Security Leads, Officers, and the PFI Monitoring Team.
Act as Deputy Chair of the Violence & Aggression Steering Group in the absence of the PFI Contract & Performance Lead. Produce and review Security Policies, Procedures, and Guidance. Support the development of security protocols for wards and departments.
Conduct security audits across Trust assets, prioritizing higher-risk areas. Participate actively in divisions, Trust, and external groups and committees. Person Specification Experience in staff management, including setting objectives, appraisals, recruitment, and disciplinary procedures.Extensive experience in the security field, with a track record of implementing change initiatives to enhance security.Experience in producing professional reports for Divisional and Trust Board levels.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with effective listening abilities.Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Proficient in MS Office applications.Knowledge of relevant law, including Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (Section 24 Powers of Arrest) and Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000.Experience working in a Mental Health setting.
Qualifications LSMS/ASMS Qualification or intent to gain this within 12 months of appointment.Degree in a relevant subject and/or demonstrable equivalent experience.Management qualification, e.g., ILM or equivalent.
