IT Support Technician

Based in Manchester and reporting to the IT Support Manager, this position is responsible for the 1^st and 2^nd level technical support to our different sites in the UK but can be engaged to provide virtual support to any of our global offices and employees.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd level IT support to users in Manchester and other UK sites (Birmingham, London and Southampton);
  • Offer remote support for other global offices (by phone and remote desktop connection);
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues;
  • Install, configure, upgrade and maintain desktops, laptops, printers and other network devices;
  • Analyse and understand the users’ IT needs and respond to information requests, questions and problems relating to systems;
  • Record incidents and requests and their resolution in ticket system;
  • Create and manage AD and Exchange accounts;
  • Manage phone sets and voice mailboxes;
  • Order and configure mobile phones;
  • Manage IT equipment pool;
  • Keep inventory of all equipment, software and licenses;
  • Assist in onboarding new employees;
  • Create and update documentation for users and technician;
  • Provide assistance to system administrators as needed;
  • Provide after hours on-call support as needed;
  • Identify and suggest possible improvements;
  • Stay on top of new technologies to ensure high efficiency and contribute to the growth of the business;
  • Any other reasonable ad-hoc requests as required by your manager.

Essential skills / experience:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Business (AD, Office 365, Teams);
  • Experience in analysing and solving technical problems;
  • Ability to establish priorities and sense of organisation;
  • Strong ability to work with deadlines and manage pressure;
  • Demonstrate rigor and attention to details;
  • Strong relational and interpersonal skills;
  • Act with diplomacy;
  • Strong customer approach skills;
  • Ability to adapt to change;
  • Good team collaboration;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Level of education:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in the field of IT.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.

Essential Requirements:

  • Right to Work and Remain in the UK
  • Flexibility to work unsociable hours which may include evenings and weekends, as required, in addition to your normal hours of work from time to time.
  • Full clean driving license.
  • Ability to travel throughout the UK including overnight stays as required.
