An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent People Services Senior Advisor to ensure the efficient and effective provision of a professional People Service to the Trust, promoting a customer care excellence ethos.

The People Services Senior Advisor will support the People Services Partner in providing a high quality responsive service to managers and colleagues on employee relations cases, sickness absence and recruitment processes; ensuring that the Trust is working towards and maintaining targets and efficiencies in line with sector-wide performance management indicators.

Main duties of the job

The People Services Senior Advisor will support managers with all employee relations process such as managing attendance, staff investigations and disciplinary hearings, supporting with the preparation of documentation for formal processes.

The People Services Senior Advisor will work alongside other Workforce and OD colleagues to deliver a comprehensive service ensuring a flexible, corporate and holistic approach to the delivery of Trust goals supporting the implementation of the People & Culture Strategy and Integrated Medium Term Plan.

Whilst there is funding for the role to be full time, we would be keen to hear from candidates looking for flexible working options. The base for this role is not fixed and can be a combination of home working and attending a Welsh Ambulance Service Trust base.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Educated to Degree level in a professionally related subject or equivalent level of practical experience within WF&OD
  • Postgraduate qualification in HRM or other relevant discipline or equivalent level of practical experience within WF&OD
  • Understands policy and procedures and how employment law is applied in the workplace
  • Membership of Chartered Institute of Personal and Development
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of Welsh Government Policy and Directives relating to Health awareness of NHS Wales Issue
  • MCIPD member

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of operational HR issues
  • Employee relations case management experience
  • Experience at middle management level in a HR/ER environment
  • Evidence of managing change initiatives
Desirable criteria
  • Track record of inspiring and managing a team
  • Experience of HR in an NHS setting
