Functional Skills / GCSE Maths & English Tutor

We are now seeking a part-time Functional Skills / GCSE Tutor in Maths & English to support our KS3 and KS4 students. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator who thrives in a dynamic, inclusive setting.

Role Details:

• Subjects: Functional Skills and GCSE English and Maths
• Hours: 9:30am – 2:30pm ( Monday / Tuesday, on-site, term time)
• Pay: £35 – £40 per hour (dependent on experience)
• Contract: Part-time, temporary until July 2025

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver engaging, differentiated Maths and English sessions to small groups and 1:1
• Support learners working towards Functional Skills or GCSE qualifications
• Track and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs
• Create a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment
• Work collaboratively with our SEN and pastoral teams to meet EHCP outcomes

Ideal Candidate:

• Qualified teacher/tutor with experience in delivering Functional Skills and/or GCSE content
• Understanding of SEMH and SEN needs, ideally in an alternative provision setting
• Patient, creative, and adaptable with a passion for making education accessible
• Able to foster confidence and resilience in learners who may have disengaged from mainstream education
• Enhanced DBS
