Trust Registrar - Paediatric ENT | Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust
To complement our existing junior doctor team we are looking for candidates who have particular experience within Paediatrics. The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly and to bring new skills to the department.
The post holder will work as part of the ENT team to provide a high quality ENT service that aims to provide excellent patient care. This includes delivery of out-patient, emergency, day-case and inpatient services independently.
In 2018, Imperial College Healthcare Trust, Imperial College London and Chelsea & Westminster Trust stated their intent to collaborate on the development of an integrated care system for paediatric services spanning West London.
West London Children's Healthcare aims to unite paediatric services from across West London with hubs that link closely to support clinical care provision, research, education and training. Over 1500 staff across 4 hospital sites with a bed base of 296 will come together to deliver £100m+ paediatric services providing over 115,000 outpatient attendances and 16,000 elective procedures annually, with the aim of improving the health and well-being of the almost half a million children and young people who live in West London.
The successful candidate will join the registrar team delivering specialist ENT care
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- To enhance and complement the skill mix and services provided by the ENT service at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust
- To advance Paediatric ENT across sites working in collaboration with West London Children’s Healthcare to develop new pathways and models of care.
- To provide high quality care to all Paediatric ENT patients
- To develop and maintain the competencies required to carry out the duties required of the post.
- To ensure prompt attendance at agreed direct clinical care activities.
- To ensure patients are involved in decisions about their care and to respond to their views.
- To take an active role in managing patient pathways in their respective area.
- To undertake administrative duties associated with their patients in line with departmental guidelines.
- To support with the training of junior specialist trainees and other junior doctors in the ENT surgery department.
- To work collaboratively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and Imperial College as required
- Adhere to Trust/departmental guidelines on leave including reporting absence.

Regular meetings:
Attendance at regular department audit, M&M and business meetings are required.
On call
This post includes an on call commitment for the Imperial sites (Charing Cross, St Mary’s and Hammersmith) as well as Chelsea and Westminster trust and the Royal Brompton.The middle tier out of hours on-call rota (approximate on-call frequency for ENT-in-general, 1:7) and the Registrar of the Week rota, providing site cover and emergency support from 9am-5pm.
