History Teacher – High Peak

A secondary school in the High Peak area is looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable History Teacher to join their humanities department. This is a great opportunity for an educator who is passionate about bringing the past to life and fostering students’ critical thinking skills.

Role Overview:

As a History Teacher, you will play a vital role in helping students understand the significance of historical events and how they shape the present and future. You will engage students through storytelling, debates, and project-based learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured history lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Teach a variety of topics, from medieval history to modern world affairs.
  • Help students develop strong research and analytical skills.
  • Prepare students for their GCSE exams, providing tailored support where necessary.
  • Promote historical discussions, critical thinking, and independent learning.
  • Organise field trips and history-related extracurricular activities.

Requirements:

  • QTS or equivalent qualification in History or a related subject.
  • A deep passion for history and the ability to make it relevant and exciting.
  • Experience teaching the National Curriculum and preparing students for exams.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
