Unqualified Teacher – High Peak
Are you looking to start your career in teaching but don’t yet have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)? This is a fantastic opportunity for an Unqualified Teacher to join a secondary school in the High Peak area. You will be delivering lessons in various subjects, following lesson plans and helping students make progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and productive
- Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive, focused learning environment
- Provide assistance to students as needed, helping them with classwork and assignments
- Maintain students' focus on the task at hand and manage disruptions effectively
- Support teachers with administrative tasks, including marking and feedback, where required
Essential Criteria:
- Strong subject knowledge (ideally in a subject area you are passionate about)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- An interest in pursuing a career in teaching
- The ability to work independently and manage a classroom
- A degree or equivalent qualification (desirable, not essential)
- Ideal for those looking to gain experience in teaching and progress towards QTS
- No lesson planning required, but you’ll be able to help students make progress
- Support and mentoring provided to help you succeed in the classroom
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: From £85 per day
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
