Are you an experienced people manager looking for your next role? We're looking for a Team Manager to join our Leeds office and manage our talented translation project managers. This is a new role for the business and a unique opportunity to join an ambitious team at a senior level.

We are looking for a natural motivator and people leader who is passionate about fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. You'll collaborate closely with the Senior Team Manager and other Department Managers to ensure your team consistently delivers exceptional results, and maintains high levels of productivity, efficiency, and performance.

At ICS, we embrace a hybrid working model, balancing flexibility with collaboration. To maintain a strong team rapport, you'll be in the office a minimum of three times a week, engaging with your team members in-person and demonstrating the benefits of a strong office culture.

The role:

  • Drive team and individual performance to achieve key business objectives, ensuring each team member contributes to overall success by hitting targets and is developing in line with role expectations
  • Effectively manage underperformance and upskilling team members to succeed in their role by identifying skills gaps
  • Lead and report on essential individual and team meetings such as 121s, performance reviews, planning meetings and team discussions
  • Effectively plan team resources to ensure all client work is delivered at service level standards, including proactively managing holiday requests and sickness absence
  • Support in consistent communication for both agency and department-wide people and operational initiatives
  • Foster a positive and open working environment caring for the wellbeing of the team and dealing with any conversations confidentially

About you:

  • Outstanding time-management skills, with a proven ability to structure team workloads in a way that ensures results
  • Proven project management experience and overseeing large team projects
  • Proven problem-solving techniques and showcases the want to empower team members to implement change
  • Previous experience of, and a natural ability to, leading high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with personnel at all levels and verbally communicate updates in individual and group setting
  • The ability to own and deliver messages objectively, even if, on occasions, they are in conflict with your own personal views and opinions
  • Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to handle situations sensitively and confidentially
  • Uses a collaborative approach; able to influence, drive ideas and effectively address issues guiding others toward the accomplishment of identified goals
  • Impeccable attention to detail, including good presentation skills and the ability to write and review process documents
  • Results and data-orientated, a person who thrives when working under pressure and towards deadlines
  • A driven, proactive mindset with strong commercial awareness and knowledge of all departments across the agency and how they work together

Desirable skills but not essential:

  • Previous experience in the translation or agency industry
  • An interest in translation or languages
  • Experience in contributing to performance reports for senior management, with clear recommendations
  • Proven ability to analyse data and use insights to drive team performance and achieve key objectives
