Job Description
  • Ensure completion of Tax Operations tasks in line with documented procedures, controls, and agreed timelines to meet Group Tax service expectations.
  • Direct reconciliation of tax accounts with submissions to ensure accurate accounting and reporting, coordinating with Group Tax and Finance teams to meet KPIs.
  • Establish and maintain a robust control framework, continuously reviewing processes, updating risk documentation, and ensuring strong reporting controls. Respond to internal and external audit requests promptly.
  • Collaborate with Group Tax and operational teams on VAT, Corporation Tax, Funds Tax, and PSA charges to ensure an effective control framework.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members in alignment with company policies to enhance overall performance.
  • Maintain team procedures, ensure cross-training for task coverage, and proactively identify opportunities for process improvement while engaging stakeholders.
  • Lead change projects related to Operational Tax activities, including planning, resource estimation, testing, and seamless integration of changes into daily operations.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Finance Manager should have:

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including excel, word and PowerPoint.
  • Detailed experience of working on a core accounting system and performing ledger postings and reconciliations.
  • Good understand of corporate tax accounting and reporting
  • Experience of spreadsheet design and financial analysis.
  • Experienced people manager able to demonstrate positive performance management.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to review the work of others and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Able to lead a team and coordinate planning and prioritising of tasks.
  • Builds and develops strong relationships with peers and within the Accounting Ops leadership team, as well as acting as a valued business partner to other parts of the business.
  • ACA, ACCA,CIMA or QBE
