Sherfield School is seeking an exceptional administrator to provide high-level support to both the Deputy Head and Head of HR. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of school operations, contributing directly to data management and the smooth running and success of our leadership and HR functions

The post-holder will lead on data and systems management, using robust knowledge of iSAMS to support administrative processed and reporting for the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and HR. You will manage the diary for the Deputy Head and support with administration for parent evenings; support HR with recruitment, aiming to ensure that Sherfield School meets its objectives by having the most effective and efficient workforce, and processing, quality assuring and process the monthly payroll submissions.

Responsibilities and duties will include:

Executive Administration and Data & Systems Management
  • Manage iSAMS database in relation to updating student data, running reports and assisting with the annual census for DfE and ISC
  • Prepare student reports on a termly basis, using iSAMS
  • Manage the diary for the Deputy Head, liaising with the wider Executive Leadership Team (ELT)
  • Prepare for parent evenings, liaising with Facilities and Catering for practical arrangements, and inform parents using ParentMail
HR
  • Preparation of employment related documents including employment contracts and offer letters
  • Supporting the Head of HR with employee related administration including recruitment processes; acquiring reference requests and interview coordination, ensuring compliance with the School’s HR policies
  • Integrate employee data into the HR Manager module on iSAMS to maintain accurate employee records
  • Maintain the highest standard of recruitment and vetting procedures ensuring the safeguarding of pupils, including, for example, right to work checks, references, DBS checks.
Payroll
  • Processing timesheets and deductions, preparing reports, and addressing payroll enquiries
  • Managing end-to-end payroll processing for all employees
  • Maintaining accurate employee records, including tax codes, deductions, and pensions
  • Supporting the Finance team with payroll reporting and reconciliation.

Skills and Experience:

Essential
  • Previous school experience, with strong knowledge of iSAMS
  • Previous school experience, managing the SCR
  • Payroll knowledge and experience or willingness to be trained
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and including robust IT skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and good organisational skills
  • Able to deal with complexity and a wide variety of tasks
  • Understand the sensitive nature of the area of the involved work, maintaining confidentiality and discretion
  • Strong attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Qualified to CIPD Level 3 or higher is desirable but not essential
  • Good knowledge of EduPay Payroll
  • Understanding of GDPR compliance
